Day 2 (Morning) - Last Night's Trip to Seoul

Our fancy bus

Last night, we left the airport at 6 pm and got onto a chartered bus that drove us to our hotel in Seoul. The bus was very fancy and had reclineable seats and HD TV channels on it. It took us about an hour to drive from Incheon Airport to our hotel in Seoul. Along the way, we saw huge areas of ocean floor (the tide was out and it raises very high when it is in). There were so many awesome things along the way, but it's kind of difficult to take pictures from a moving bus! One thing that comes to mind was a car repair shop that had a robot on the street gesturing people to come in with a slogan that said "Drive Emotion".

Once we arrived at the Somerset Place hotel, we had a bit of a fiasco trying to check in and had our rooms mixed up with other people. Eventually we sorted it out and I was able to get to my room.

We hadn't eaten in quite a few hours so two other guys, Andy and Tyler, and I decided to go find some food. There was a sandwich shop right outside the hotel but we decided to pass on that and walk around a few streets until we found something. We chose a tiny hole in the wall place with a big bright sign. There were only six tables in the restaurant and everything was in Korean, so I ordered one of the few things I know how to say, 비빔밥 (bibimbap). I started eating the food the exact way it was brought to me and the waitress saw us and immediately came over and corrected us. We were quite obvious 외국인 (waygookin) which means foreigner, haha. She mixed all of the food up for us, which made it taste a lot better! The total cost of my meal was 7,000 which is about $7 (actually closer to $6).

Afterward, we headed back to the hotel and immediately fell asleep. I had been awake for over 31 hours!

This morning, I woke up and met the third person staying in my room at the hotel, named Eric (he got in late last night). We just ate the complimentary breakfast at the hotel and are about to head down for orientation in 15 minutes!

That's all for now!
