Day 23 - Myeong-dong and Arcade

Today, I slept in and met up with three other friends at noon to go to Myeong-dong, which is a shopping district that I've been to many times before. I was hoping to find a cheap wallet because mine got wet the other day (monsoon season!) and is now kind of ruined.

It takes about 30 minutes to get to Myeong-dong Station from our dorm. Once we got there, we ate spicy bulgogi (beef) with rice at a restaurant chain that we really like and is very reasonably priced.

After lunch, we scoured around Myeong-dong looking for a wallet for me and whatever else might be interesting. Sadly, we didn't find any wallets but I did get a nice looking watch from a street vendor for only 10,000 won! My only hope is that the watch keeps on ticking! I'm especially concerned about the quality of it because the same vendor was selling bootleg Rolex watches as well, haha.

My Don Bosco watch, which I don't think is a real brand...

After a few hours we headed back to Yonsei and I took a nap, as I've gotten into the habit of doing in the middle of the afternoon.

Around 7:00, I met with a large group of 10 friends and we all went to a fried chicken place. Naturally, I couldn't eat the fried chicken so I had some convenience store kimbap (essentially Korean sushi) for dinner, which actually tastes better than you might imagine and is very cheap (only 2,000-3,000 won).

Taiko no Tatsujin, the drum arcade game

After the chicken place we hung out for a while and then I headed to an arcade with one of my friends. We played this Japanese drum game called Taiko no Tatsujin, which was very fun! We also played some English arcade games and this one Korean game that was incredibly confusing (because we don't speak Korean, haha).

The really confusing Korean game!

Eventually, the arcade closed and we had to leave so we just decided to head back to the dorm and call it a night!

Fighting zombies!
