I'm actually a little bit confused as to which day I'm on, because I normally post about the day before when I make a new post and I've lost track over the last through days because I wasn't regularly updating.
Anyway, the last two days have mostly consisted of endless studying for my midterms. I was really worried about my Premodern Korean History midterm because the material is really dense and difficult. To put it in perspective, I've taken a two semester course on American history, which is roughly 400 years or so, and right now I'm taking a six-week course on Korean history, which is roughly 4,000 years!
So the last couple of days have consisted mostly of microwave meals and caffeinated soda, but I finally just finished taking both of my midterms! I think I did quite well on both of them. The Premodern Korean History midterm was an oral exam where we had to answer one question (out of a possible 30) and then have a group discussion. I got lucky and my professor asked me about the Parhae kingdom (발해) which happens to be the question that I knew the most about!
My World History final went really well too! I had to identify 7 different terms and why they're important/relevant to world history and then I had to match reading passages to their specific authors (which was easy because I had done the reading).
Now that I'm done, I feel footloose and fancy-free! At 6:00 tonight I'm going to get together with some other study abroad kids to watch a Korean film called The Thieves, which is a casino-heist movie (supposedly similar to Ocean's Eleven).
After the movie, I'm going to go to Dongdaemun with some friends, where there is a night market that runs until 5:00 AM! (Although I don't think we'll stay out that late, haha)
That's all for now~
